Divide has some of the last remaining truly dark skies in the lower 48. Enjoy the Milky Way from your deck at night! Mueller State Park (3 miles away) is famous for its dark skies & park rangers host Night Sky Walk events along the 55 miles of walking trails. During the day, enjoy hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or cross-country skiing, or head over to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (9mi), internationally known for its incredibly preserved prehistoric insect & plant fossils. The views of Pikes Peak as it turns salmon pink against the vibrant blue skies in the morning, or the glorious sunsets that turn into constellation shows in the evening, will make you “never want to leave your deck.” Don’t be surprised to see Elk, Deer, Turkeys, Bears, and Foxes meandering through the neighborhood below you. Divide, and the surrounding Teller County area offer quick access to several beautiful alpine reservoirs and lakes. These spots are perfect for trout fishing, hiking, and non-motorized boating. There is a small “town hub” (3 miles), McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub, and a few other essentials are there, and Woodland Park is 7 miles away. Driving from the town hub to your front door is a sensory experience that will stay etched in your mind. 3 miles of gently winding roads, lined with golden aspens (autumn), when there’s a break in the aspens, you see gently rolling fields with a house here & there.
