Shay Creek cabins are meant for part time usage and cannot be rented out. The water is available from approximately May 1 through October 1, depending on weather. Shay Creek Road is not plowed during the winter, but many cabin owners snowshoe in from Hot Springs Road, which is only a short walk. In mild winters, it is sometimes possible to drive in. Walking distance to Grover Hot Springs, a beautiful waterfall, fishing in Markleeville Creek and hiking trails. Only a short drive to downtown Markleeville for wonderful restaurant options and a general store. Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley, NV are an easy and short drive away from this location, as well as world class ski resorts, mountain lakes, rivers and everything that an outdoor enthusiast could want.
